What to check before you book an airport cab in Bangalore

Kempegowda International sits about 35 km north of the city centre, and the drive is long enough that small differences in how a cab is priced turn into real money. These are the things worth settling before you confirm anything.

Is the fare flat, or is it metered?

A flat fare is a single number agreed before the trip. A metered fare is not known until you arrive. On an airport run the distance barely varies, so there is no real reason for the price to be a surprise.

Our airport fares are flat per vehicle class: ₹1,200 in an Etios, ₹1,500 in an Innova, ₹2,800 in an Innova Crysta and ₹4,500 in a Tempo Traveller. The number does not move because the traffic was bad.

Does the fare already include toll?

The route to the airport runs over tolled road. Some operators quote a lower headline fare and then add the toll at the barrier, which makes two quotes impossible to compare.

Ask for the all-in number. On this site the airport toll is already inside the quoted fare.

How much waiting time do you get on an arrival?

Baggage and immigration take as long as they take. If a cab starts charging the moment it parks, a slow belt costs you money for nothing.

Confirm that arrivals include free waiting, and tell the operator your flight number rather than your scheduled landing time — a pickup set against the actual arrival survives a delay.

Where exactly is the pickup?

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 have separate forecourts, and the kerbside pickup areas are a short walk from arrivals. Agree the meeting point in writing before you fly.

  • Confirm the terminal, not just the airport
  • Save the driver number on WhatsApp before departure
  • For a 4am–6am departure, book the night before, not the morning of
  • Tell the operator the passenger and bag count — it decides the vehicle

Four questions, asked before you pay, remove nearly every airport-cab dispute we hear about.

Ready to roll?

Send the route and the date. You will have a fare back quickly, and a cab held for the time you need it.
