Most booking mistakes are made here — a group books on seat count alone, and then discovers the boot will not take the bags.
An Innova and an Innova Crysta are both 7 + 1, and both take roughly three large bags plus three small. Seven adults with a large bag each will not fit, whatever the seat count says.
A Tempo Traveller is 12 + 1 with dedicated luggage space, which is why groups of eight and nine often end up in one even though the seats are not all needed.
A Crysta is ₹20/km against ₹18 for an Innova — ₹2 per kilometre, so on a 600 km billed trip it is ₹1,200 more. What you get is a quieter cabin, better seats and a noticeably easier ride on ghat sections.
For a city day or a short run, the Innova is the better value. For a long hill drive or a client pickup, the Crysta earns the difference.
Tell whoever takes your booking the passenger count and the bag count. The right vehicle follows from those two numbers.
